Warranty Terms

EU legal warranty and our 5-year commercial warranty

Last updated: April 13, 2026

Two Warranties, Not One

Two warranties may apply to your ISOBUS Block purchase:

  1. EU legal warranty (consumers only). EU consumers have a two-year statutory warranty under Directive (EU) 2019/771. This warranty cannot be waived. It covers lack of conformity of the product with the sales contract at the time of delivery.
  2. Commercial five-year limited warranty. In addition to the legal warranty, ISOBUS Block offers a five-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Neither warranty limits the other. As a consumer, you may choose whichever is more favourable for your claim.

EU Legal Warranty (Consumers)

For two years from the date of delivery, you are entitled to remedy if the product does not conform to the sales contract. Conformity means the product matches the description, is fit for the purpose it is sold for, and has the qualities reasonable for a product of the same kind.

In the first year, defects are presumed to have existed at the time of delivery unless we prove otherwise. In the second year, the burden of proof shifts to you.

Your remedies are, in order: repair or replacement free of charge, then (if repair or replacement is impossible or disproportionate) a proportionate price reduction or termination of the contract with a refund.

Commercial Five-Year Limited Warranty

The commercial warranty runs for five years from the date of purchase. It covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. If a covered defect is confirmed, we will repair or replace the product at our option. Return shipping for confirmed warranty replacements is covered by ISOBUS Block.

What the Commercial Warranty Covers

  • Relay contact failure under normal switching load within rated current
  • ISOBUS CAN transceiver failure under normal use
  • Power regulation failure under rated voltage (12V or 24V)
  • Firmware defects that prevent the product from functioning
  • Enclosure or connector defects present at delivery or resulting from a manufacturing fault

What the Commercial Warranty Does Not Cover

  • Moisture or water ingress — the product must be installed in a protected location or a weatherproof enclosure suitable for the operating environment
  • Dust, dirt, or debris contamination from improper installation
  • Improper installation — reversed polarity, incorrect wiring, use on an incompatible bus
  • Electrical damage — overvoltage, short circuits, surges, or exceeding the 10A per channel rating
  • Physical damage — drops, crushing, impact, mechanical stress
  • Modifications to the hardware or firmware, including unauthorized firmware flashing
  • Misuse — use on road-registered vehicles, in safety-critical systems, or in any prohibited application listed in our Terms of Service
  • Normal wear and tear, including relay contact wear from high-cycle switching
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect function

Hardware vs. Firmware

The commercial warranty covers hardware defects and firmware defects that prevent the product from functioning. It does not cover feature requests, configuration errors, or incompatibilities with third-party ISOBUS implementations that are not defects in our product. Firmware updates are provided free of charge through the regular release channel; we do not guarantee feature parity across firmware versions.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

  1. Email [email protected] with your order number, a description of the defect, and photos or video demonstrating the problem.
  2. We will respond within 5 business days with next steps. In most cases we will request that you return the product for inspection.
  3. If the defect is covered, we repair or replace the product. Return shipping for confirmed warranty claims is covered by ISOBUS Block.
  4. If the inspection shows the defect is not covered (for example, water ingress from improper installation), we will contact you with options.

Limitations

The commercial warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the defective product. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of use, lost profits, crop losses, or damage to other equipment. Nothing in this limitation affects your non-waivable rights under EU consumer law.

Transferability

The commercial warranty is transferable with the product. A proof of original purchase (order number or receipt) is required to make a claim.
