Firmware Rollback
Revert to previous firmware version if needed
Firmware Rollback
If a firmware update causes problems, you can roll back to the previous version.
When to Use Rollback
- New firmware has bugs affecting operation
- Features stopped working after update
- Device behaves unexpectedly after update
Rollback via Web Interface
This is the easiest method:
- Connect to the device WiFi
- Go to http://192.168.4.1/update
- Scroll down to the Rollback section
- Click Rollback to Previous Version
- Confirm when prompted
- Device will restart with the previous firmware
Note: Rollback does NOT require the OTA key.
When Rollback is Available
The Rollback section only appears when:
- A previous firmware version exists on the device
- The previous firmware is valid
If you've only ever installed one firmware, rollback won't be available.
How It Works
The ISOBUS Block has two firmware storage slots:
- One slot runs the current firmware
- The other slot keeps the previous firmware
After an update, the old firmware remains available for rollback. After a rollback, the firmware you rolled back from becomes the "previous" version.
Automatic Rollback
The device has boot failure protection:
- If new firmware fails to boot 3 times in a row
- The device automatically reverts to the previous firmware
- This prevents a bad update from permanently bricking the device
After Rollback
- Check the firmware version on Settings page
- Test that functionality is restored
- Report the issue with the problematic firmware to support
Troubleshooting
Rollback button not visible
- No previous firmware is stored
- This is the original factory firmware
Rollback failed
- Previous firmware partition may be corrupted
- Try updating to a known-good firmware instead
