Common issues and solutions for ISOBUS Block
Troubleshooting
Common issues and solutions for the ISOBUS Block module.
WiFi Issues
Can't find the WiFi network
- Wait 10-15 seconds after power-on for WiFi to start
- Move closer to the device (within 10-15 meters)
- Check power - verify the device has proper voltage (7-36V)
- Look for the right name - network is "Block_relay_XXX"
Connected but can't access web page
- Go to http://192.168.4.1 (not https)
- Disable mobile data on your phone - it may route traffic elsewhere
- Clear browser cache and try again
- Try a different browser
WiFi password not working
- Default password is 12345678
- If changed and forgotten, see WiFi Password Reset
ISOBUS/VT Issues
ISOBUS Block not appearing on VT
- Check CAN bus wiring (CAN_H, CAN_L, GND)
- Verify ISOBUS connector is properly seated
- Wait 30 seconds for VT client to connect
- Check for CAN termination - the module has an optional 120Ω terminator (jumper)
VT shows "Disconnected"
- CAN bus may be disconnected
- Check all CAN wiring connections
- Verify tractor ISOBUS is active
Output status not updating on VT
- This indicates communication is working, display may be slow
- Updates occur approximately 10 times per second
Output Issues
Button on VT does nothing
- Open EDIT mode on the VT and confirm the button has a channel (CH1-CH8) selected
- Verify you're not in Test mode in the web interface (which overrides normal operation)
- Check the ISOBUS Block still shows as connected on the VT
Relay not clicking
- Open EDIT mode on the VT and confirm the button you pressed switches this channel
- Verify you're not in Test mode (which overrides normal operation)
- Check relay load - minimum switching current may be required for some loads
- Use the web interface TEST function to switch the channel directly and isolate the issue
Relay clicking but load not working
- Check load wiring to relay terminals (COM, NO, NC)
- Verify load is within relay ratings (10A max)
- Test with a simple load (light bulb) to verify relay operation
All outputs suddenly turn off
- This is the safety timeout - ISOBUS connection may have been lost
- Check CAN bus connection
- Outputs turn OFF if no valid command received for 500ms (safety feature)
Firmware Update Issues
"Invalid OTA key" error
- Check the key on VT Info screen
- Key is 4 characters, case-insensitive
- Make sure you're reading from the correct device
Update stuck or failed
- Don't close browser during upload
- Stay connected to device WiFi
- Power cycle and try again
- Check that firmware file is valid .bin format
Device not responding after update
- Wait 30 seconds for restart
- Reconnect to WiFi
- Try rollback via web interface
- If unresponsive, wait 3 boot attempts for automatic rollback
General Issues
Device not powering on
- Verify supply voltage is 7-36V DC
- Check polarity (BAT+ and BAT-)
- Check for blown fuse in power supply
Relays stuck on
- Exit Test mode in web interface
- Power cycle the device
- Check for short circuits in load wiring
Erratic behavior
- Check for electrical noise on power supply
- Verify proper grounding
- Add filtering capacitors if on noisy vehicle electrical system
Getting Help
If these steps don't resolve your issue:
- Note the firmware version (Settings page)
- Note the device ID (WiFi network name)
- Describe the exact symptoms
